SatNav E@syCare is an IngeniArs project developed with the European Space Agency in response to the COVID-19 crisis. It represents the evolution of the standard E@syCare suite with the integration of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) technology to provide enhanced functionalities for the final users (both HealthCare personnel and patients).

SatNav E@syCare will integrate in the existing system a smartwatch/smart-bracelet featuring as a minimum a GNSS receiver, a Heart-Rate Sensor and Accelerometers. All the existing Software modules will then be upgraded to receive geo-tagged data from the smartwatch, to provide enhanced analysis tools for HealthCare personnel based on geo-tagged data.

In the short term SatNav E@syCare can be used as an effective tool against COVID-19 pandemic. In the long term, indeed, the position tracking feature represents an added value for activity monitoring of patients affected by Chronic diseases, which are prescribed to do outdoor activity as part of their therapy plan.
